Newsletter September 2025

Dear friends of iKhaya,

September has been a month of grace, growth, and gratitude. Welcoming back Greta, Sara, Lotte, and Nynke reminded us of the deep bonds that form when volunteers return to serve.

Their presence, alongside our new German volunteers, brought fresh energy, gentle
encouragement, and tender care to iKhaya, creating new memories while strengthening old relationships. Watching them reconnect with the children, celebrate milestones, and step in with joy wherever needed was a beautiful reminder of how service sows lasting seeds of love and connection.

As we look ahead, our Christmas campaign is gaining wonderful momentum, and excitement is brewing as the children have each written their wishlists. If you would like to be part of making dreams come true as we celebrate the birth of Jesus this Christmas, please reach out to us for the finer details. Together, we can make this festive season a time of joy, wonder, and cherished memories for every child at iKhaya.

Seeing our children grow and develop new skills, we delight in the ongoing support we receive from our community. Thank you for being part of our story and for helping us create a safe and nurturing space where children can truly thrive. It’s often in the little things, like a kind word of encouragement, a hug at just the right time, or a personalised birthday gift with a themed cake, that children feel most seen, most valued, and most at home. These small gestures carry sparks of hope, belonging, and joy that will last far beyond the moment.

Greetings,
Loressa, staff and children
