Dear friends of iKhaya
August reminded us why iKhaya exists, not just as a place of shelter, but as a home where joy, growth, and connection flourish. From the laughter echoing through our homes and playgrounds to the generosity poured out by visiting groups, we witnessed the beauty of community in action. Each song sung, each game played, and every gift shared, whether shoes, groceries, or time, was a thread in the tapestry of love that wraps around our children daily.
We were also thrilled to welcome three new APCM volunteers this month, who will journey with us for the next 11 months, bringing fresh energy and servant hearts to our home.
Alongside them, four returning volunteers joined us and will remain for most of September. The children were overjoyed to see their familiar faces and rekindle those special bonds. Their help, friendship, and presence are deeply valued by us all, making our load that much lighter!
I’m especially moved by the words of the young boy who once called iKhaya home. His
heartfelt message reminds us that what we do here matters deeply. That we are not only
focused on meeting needs, but also creating lasting memories, building character, and
nurturing hope.
Thank you to every hand that reached out this month. You’ve helped us plant seeds of change, and we’re watching them grow. May we continue to commit our plans to the Lord, trusting that He will establish them, just as Proverbs 16:3 promises.
With much love and greetings from Loressa & the iKhaya Team
