Dear friends of iKhaya
February has been a month filled with love, colour, courage, and connection. From our little ones exploring new skills to our older learners discovering their passions, we’ve watched growth unfold in the most beautiful ways. Every smile, every small achievement, and every shared moment reminds us why this work matters so deeply.
Our gas installations were upgraded and two of our gas hobs were replaced through the generosity of Petregaz. What a pleasure it has been to cook on these new stoves and enjoy a safer, smoother kitchen experience. We also put out a call for support for our busiest birthday month, March, and we are truly blown away by the response with so many hearts stepping forward to bless our children with gifts and cakes that make them feel loved and worthy. We then faced a hiccup when our bus suddenly needed a new clutch, but once again we witnessed incredible kindness and favour. Many offered to assist with school lifts, and Toyota SA stepped in to cover the full repair bill. We are in awe of every gift received and God’s steady hand of provision over our home.
We are thrilled to announce the launch of Shap BABY! 2026, where Ansa and her incredible team are aiming to raise a remarkable R150,000 for us this year. The project will run across multiple events, starting with the Half Ironman and ending with the Comrades Marathon in June. You can follow their journey on Instagram and GivenGain, and this year we’re excited to introduce athlete and supporter merch, proudly co‐designed by our children. Please follow on Instagram, @shapbabyproject, share, and get yours to show your support.
Thank you for being part of our iKhaya family, your support, love, and presence continue to make this home a place of belonging and possibility.
Love and greetings from
Loressa, The Board, Staff and Children
