A Personal Note

Looking back over the years I see how many of our children have grown from toddlers into young adults and pre-teens. I am amazed at how quickly time has passed but also how God has walked this path with us. “Never will I forsake you” is a scripture that I can truly bear witness to. God has been with me, and us, at iKhaya every step of the way. It is with His wisdom, by His grace and in His love that we operate and renew our daily strength. Here is to the year ahead, may we all draw closer to Him and be more like Jesus in all we do. May we make ourselves more available and ready ourselves to be used by Him more and more.

Christmas Day

Celebrating Jesus’ Birthday with a little singing and gift giving. Loads of hugs, love and happy moments were shared as each child opened their gift with their “family” watching in great anticipation. To see the thrilled facial expressions and hearing the cheerful bursts of joy as they received gifts they had wished for made my heart burst with love and happiness! What a priviledge it was to share this day with my many kids! Thank you to each family who invested in making this a truly blessed day filled with memories to be treasured!

"All the better to see you with"

Thank you Spec Savers Richards Bay and to Moffatt Optical Sanlam Centre for testing our school kids’ eyes and providing glasses to 3 young learners and our teens. They were delighted to receive their new specs and happily read books to show me they could see and read better now! We appreciate your support and care!

"A Beavy of Beauties"

Girly Treats were the order of the day for these 3 young ladies. They experienced their first ever Salon Treatments and had their hair styled as they chose. They looked amazing and were beaming from ear to ear! To sponsor a girls’ face & hair care please contact Loressa.

"Camp-Outs"

A few months ago the girls and I conspired to have a girls sleepover on the jumping castle duing the holidays. Nothing like an impromtu plan to create excitement and chaos... without any forewarning we decided to just do it on Christmas day. Why not, the castle was already up and it was a holiday after all! Obviously that made the boys feel left out, so to treat the twins, on their actual birthday (26 Dec), I slept a second night out with the boys. The weather was perfect and with the stars and moon visible it made the nights even more exciting! We are already scheming for the next campout!

"Gifts-Parties-Fun"

December was a busy birthday month as we celebrated 4 birthdays. Loads of fun was had all round. The girls enjoyed pass the parcel, the jumping castle and splashing in oyster shells before putting the make up gifts to the test! For the boys we made a trip to the farm for pony rides and some good old fashioned outdoors fun! Thanks Robyn for willingly hosting our many visits!

Learning,fiddling,Playing...

Each and every child has their own special traits, personalities and characteristics. Unique in every way just as the Father intended. We are so blessed to know and love each child that is placed with us. We know God works all things for the good for those who love Him. We pray over each little life in our care for God to work miracle healings and to protect and guide them as they grow up. Pray with us too for God to reveal Himself to each child, to draw them closer to Him and that the seeds we plant will grow.

I stand in awe of the mighty hand of God over us. Daily we see His provision, healing, love and care in our home and our lives. He has kept us safe and our needs met despite the chaotic year we had. We give Him all the glory and praise! Here is to an even greater year ahead. Use us Lord!
